A look back on Amtrak's early and middle years when it had a heritage fleet pulled by E-units, SDP-40F's and F-40PH's. The 215 photographs are mainly set in the Midwest and West.
The locations include the Great Northern Minneapolis depot, St. Paul and Duluth in Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Colorado and Utah. The book concludes with depots Amtrak inherited and some it built. There are also early Amtrak documents in PDF form on the CD.
The presentation is like looking through a book on a computer. The CD-ROM works in PC's (WIN 2000/XP/Vista/7) and Macs and is self-starting. The images can be printed out.
