The Old South Park Line including Platte Canon, Como, Alma Branch, Boreas Pass, Dickey, Ten Mile Canon, Leadville and Gunnison comes alive again with newspaper articles, interviews with descendants of the South Park railroaders and vintage photographs.
This title includes 340 B&W photographs, most previously unpublished, plus 65 maps, tickets and miscellaneous items in this 240-page hardcover book. Many of the photographs are from C&Sng railroaders' family albums. Pictures will be about what interested someone to take the photograph to begin with such as family members in front of a locomotive, train wrecks, structures, excursions and such.
The Colorado & Southern narrow gauge era is presented from 1898 to the close of narrow gauge operations. In addition there is a chapter covering the current preservation efforts and the return to steam at Como, Colorado.
