This is an inexpensive book with good quality to the binding and pages. Most photographs are in Color with most historical photographs in B&W. This is a good book for the model railroader as there are many color photographs of the locomotive's appliances and details both inside and outside the cab.
The appendix data includes all AC classes, their in-service dates, years on the roster, retirements and disposition dates.
One of the authors of this title, Vincent C. Cipolla, is a retired Southern Pacific engineer and used to work on the 4294.
