Former Erie Lackawanna operator and dispatcher Art Erdman describes the day-to-day workings on this colorful fan favorite. His behind the scene explanations compliment the more than 250 Color photographs, all taken on the road's east end.
The reader will see some power still in Erie Railroad black and yellow, the last of passenger service including electric MU cars. Also included are pictures of the tugs for the car floats and the Nickel Plate 759 steam excursion. Not all photographs are bright sunny days, there are some photographs taken in blizzard conditions.
