Author Greg Stout takes the reader on a tour of the colorful Frisco that offered E8s with race horse names and squadrons of F-units and FAs handling the freight.
The photographs in this book are mostly of first-generation diesels. The Texas Special, The Meteor, The Firefly and many freight trains, depots, station scenes, connecting short line diesels, and first and second-generation power in the red and white paint scheme. Overall a good selection of Frisco photographs.
