The presentation is like looking through a book on a computer. The CD-ROM works in PCs (WIN 2000/XP/Vista/10) and Macs and is self-starting. The images and information can be printed out.
While many of the Great Northern's depots, freighthouses and roundhouses have largely disappeared, remnants of that earlier era are still out there. The CD book shows Great Northern depots and structures still standing in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Washington. These structures were observed in the 2006-2011 time period.
In addition to the 183 photographs, there is also information on how to find these structures, including quite a few with GPS coordinates.
