The book is a geographically organized selection of B&W photographs from the Edward May photo collection. Complete with extensive photo captions this book presents what locomotives would have been seen on the New York Central in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan from the 1920s until the end of steam.
This is a quality reproduction of the photographs which are pretty much 3/4 wedge shots with very little background clutter. An occasional coal dock or water tower appears in the background. Also included are maps of the NYC for the selected states.
The Railroad Press, softcover, 60 pages, standard portrait book 8 x 10 in., B&W photographs with captions and maps.
