This is the story of the first cars bought by the new Pacific Electric in 1902 and their history through final retirement in 1937-39.
Information on cars that were sold for use as homes, cars preserved, etc. The second half of the book details the project funded by the Los Angeles Harbor Department to build and operate two visual replica cars on electrified trackage on the harbor front in San Pedro. Author Smatlak was the project lead and sold the idea to the Harbor Department.
