The Pennsylvania Railroad built Pavonia Yard in 1883 on an almost north-south alignment in East Camden, New Jersey. Over time the PRR purchased additional land and expanded the yard and added shop facilities. Later the traffic levels increased and the yard was converted to a hump yard. In 2011 and 2012 the yard was converted to a flat switching yard. The yard is still in use today.
The book includes photographs and diagrams from the early era of the yard to the current era. B&W photographs and diagrams supplement the text and four pages Color photographs are included on the covers.
