This book could have just as easily been titled "The Delaware & Eastern Railroad" as this was the name of this Catskill Mountain rail line when trains first started running along the East Branch of the Delaware River in New York State in 1906. Much of this publication highlights the early years of the railroad when it operated as the Delaware & Eastern, but for most of its history the line was known as the Delaware & Northern Railroad.
This 208-page Volume is a comprehensive photographic study of this unique 47-mile short line railroad. It contains more than 300 black & white images, many of which have never been published before. Included are 8 historical maps, plus railroad passes, train tickets, schedules, and work orders that should pique the interest of the most avid rail historian.
