This Santa Fe Locomotive Pictorial History in Chronological Order provides you with the history of steam and early diesel locomotive development in pictorial form that was covered in Larry's first volume published by Signature Press. Unfortunately, the first volume is now out of print and no longer available, so this is a great substitute or can be used as a condensed motive power history if you have the first volume.
Even though this book is a pictorial, the photographs are not close-up photographs showing great detail. They are 3/4 roster shots and there are generally two images per page. The book is a discussion of locomotive development on the Santa Fe Railway and a locomotive image is provided to augment the text. The paper is not glossy. If you want this book, it is for the text and not for the photographs.
