The Southern Pacific's facilities from Los Angeles Union Depot to Tucumcari, New Mexico and New Orleans, Louisiana are presented. These are the Golden State and Sunset Limited routes respectively. See stations, yards, shops, and signal towers of the Espee are illustrated next to the trains they served from Los Angeles to New Orleans and Tucumcari. The depots generally are in good repair as is the motive power. Some steam and early diesel power make an appearance. Many of these facilities are long gone.
The photographs from Arizona and New Mexico are from my days as a novice railfan and includes many locations I would watch trains from. The Tucson coaling tower, 2-stall engine house and yard tower are pictured. The abandoned Rodeo, New Mexico depot and facilities from the former El Paso & Southwestern line between Douglas, Arizona and Anapra, New Mexico is featured on a page with 3 photos.
Up the Golden State Route are the depots of Vaughn, Santa Rosa and Tucumcari, New Mexico. There are a couple of photographs of the Tucumcari Yard with black widow F-units, the coaling tower and roundhouse. For me this is a great selection of photographs.
