Written by David M. Bernstein, former Southern Pacific train dispatcher and officer, this 400-page book is illustrated with color and black & white photographs and numerous maps. It is the definitive guide to the operation and history of the Southern Pacific Lines in Texas and Louisiana from the end of World War II until the Union Pacific merger. The text and photography are excellent. This is a high-quality publication.
