Harvey Laner recorded exciting railroad action through California's Tehachapi Mountains. This program brings together his best work capturing dramatic sights and sounds of the pre-merger period from 1988 to 1996. It was a time when Southern Pacific scarlet and gray and Santa Fe war bonnets still dominated the Mountain. Harvey narrates the program and describes his transition from 8mm film movies to a progression of video cameras used to capture audio and visual images. Charles Smiley produced this video at the CSP Studio.
