This is a color book of photographs taken during the 2015-2016 at General Electric's test track at Erie, Pennsylvania. Most pages feature two photographs with captions.
During this period GE transitioned from the production of its popular ES44AC and ES44DC models to the new GEVO powered locomotives. The GEVO motor is a EPA Tier 4 compliant prime mover. The motor produces as much horsepower with 12 cylinders as the GE 7FDL-16 does with 16 cylinders.
As a locomotive engineer, I have extensive experience with the prior ES44AC models and they are the best locomotives I have ever operated. I am looking forward to operating the new GEVO-powered ET44AC.
