Volume 1 is long out-of-print. Arizona Hobbies has never seen a copy of Volume 1.
Here is Volume 2 of the two Volume set about the Union Pacific 4-12-2 steam locomotive type. This unusual locomotive wheel arrangement, only found in the United States on the Union Pacific (hence the name 'Union Pacific Type'), was literally hated by some Union Pacific managers. This three-cylinder design pushed the limits of locomotive design theory and the railroad's own clearance and other mechanical restrictions. Inside this book is the story of the design, fabrication, modification and operation of these 88 locomotives which lasted on the Union Pacific until the end of steam locomotive operations.
