This book is organized by railroad and location, beginning with the Lehigh Valley around Towanda, Pennsylvania and then around Sayre, PA. Then on to Waverly, New York to look at the Erie, Lackawanna and Erie Lackawanna. Then the tour proceeds west to the Elmira, NY area. At Elmira it heads south on the picturesque Elmira Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
This entire remarkable photographic tour was mostly taken in the 1940s. The book is about 70 percent Lehigh Valley with the remaining split among the Erie, Lackawanna, E-L and Pennsylvania. A couple of pages show the Delaware & Hudson Sharks and PAs.
