Wayne Sherman started as a brakeman on the Pennsylvania Railroad based out of the Washington, DC's Benning Yard in 1955 and was soon working all over the Chesapeake Region. His duties assigned him to York, Pennsylvania, Wilmington, Delaware, Baltimore, Maryland, and Enola Yard, Pennsylvania. Unlike most of his fellow employees, Wayne took his camera along and shares these photographs and his colorful anecdotes with us in this Color book.
The book begins in Washington, DC and works west to Chicago. Along the way are pictures of passenger pool power (ACL, SAL), the Talgo train, steam locomotives and anything else that showed up on the Pennsy.
