Delivering new FL9s, GP18s and GP20's, Casey Cavanaugh took this camera to the NH, CB&Q, RI, GN, SP and numerous other railroads across the country. His behind the scenes commentary makes for enjoyable reading. You might expect many of the photographs to be of the new delivered power, but they are not. Casey 'rail-fanned' and so took pictures of whatever was interesting in the area he was working in. That included various ALCOs on the New Haven, New Haven electrics, New York Central electrics, E-units on the NYC and C&O, leased Burlington steam on the Bevier & Southern (2 pages of photographs).
The major coverage is of the New Haven, the New York Central in New York, the Santa Fe, the Great Northern in Minneapolis, the Burlington in Nebraska, the Rio Grande in Colorado and the Southern Pacific around El Paso. There are a few pages on the Baltimore & Ohio, the Milwaukee Road and Grand Trunk Western (steam).
Morning Sun Books, hardcover with dust jacket, 128 pages, 11 x 8.5 x .5 in., all Color photographs with captions.
