Volume 34 covers these locomotive groups: Shay #59 and 61; UP #4500 switcher 0-8-0; UP #3670-3598 simple articulated 2-8-8-2 (ex C&O); UP #3670-3674 Mallet compound 2-8-8-2 (ex N&W); UP #8000 and LA&SL 8800-8809 (3-cylinder) 4-10-2; LA&SL #5090-5099 (2-cylinder) 4-10-2. This series of books covers all classes of steam locomotives of the UPRR and its subsidiaries. Each book is 80 pages in 11 x 8.5 horizontal format, printed on 100 lb. enamel stock and is a softcover. Each volume contains 77 quality photographs.
Supporting technical data is included for the time the photograph was taken. The books present a wide variety of photographic views that show locomotives during various eras, the various lettering and paint schemes, changes in appearance, with various tenders, as well as both sides of locomotives.
